The Position: 
We’re looking for a real-time application developer to help maintain an existing software suite used in the oil and gas industry and to develop new cloud-based capabilities for monitoring offshore industrial operations.  This software suite is comprised of both desktop (Windows 10) and web (Azure) applications spanning multiple technologies using Microsoft .NET framework through .NET Core.   Engineers will build software and components both alone as well as together on teams.  Teamwork is a critical part of our success.

Sought after skills:
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from a 4-year accredited university or comparable professional experience
3-8 years of professional software development experience
Experience with C# - .NET framework, .NET Core and .NET Standard
An understanding of repository systems, especially Git and SVN
The ability to develop desktop graphical user interfaces in WPF/UWP 
Web-app development experience (e.g., using ASP.NET)
Database Experience - SQL (mySQL, T-SQL, PostgreSQL)
Experience with the Agile Software Development Process (e.g. SCRUM/Kanban)
Knowledge of project management tools for issue tracking and requirements/specification gathering (e.g. JIRA Software / JIRA Confluence)
Ability to develop according to software design patterns to create maintainable, scalable, and extensible software applications
A strong background in mathematics, algorithm development or other hard sciences - including physics, chemistry and biology - is a definite advantage.

Responsibilities:
Improve an existing software suite – add new capabilities to real-time data analysis capabilities, modeling, reporting, and visualization
Add new capabilities to capturing, processing, and presenting data captured offshore to end-users via a web application
Provide support to users while capturing requirements to improve the software
Travel to the field to test new software features
Help demonstrate and train customers on new features
Help manage the deployment process of the entire software suite
Promote a healthy, constructive environment to build the best quality products

The Location:
Hecate is based in Richland, WA.  This is a great place to live with affordable housing and the a low cost-of-living.  For people who enjoy the outdoors, the Tri-Cities area is the meeting point of three rivers including the Columbia river which is great for boating and fishing.  The Blue and Cascade mountain ranges are nearby for hiking and camping.  For people who enjoy the city, Richland hosts a number of events during the summer months and the area is evolving into an area with great restaurants, wineries, and breweries.  Our office is nearby several restaurants for lunch.
